As a Torrance School Boardmember and a Deputy Attorney General with the California Department of Justice, I know firsthand how the dysfunction in Sacramento has led to devastating cuts for our schools, our community, and our state. That is why I want to be your voice in Sacramento so that together, we can fight for good jobs, good schools, safe neighborhoods, and a clean and healthy environment.
But I can’t do this alone. I need your help to make sure our community is represented by someone prepared to stand up to special interests.
Please join my campaign by clicking the link below so that together, we can get California working again!

Al Muratsuchi for 66th Assembly District
Of the two men who are running for a new state Assembly district that essentially takes in the heart of the South Bay, Democratic candidate Al Muratsuchi is the one who best represents the region's values.
The federal prosecutor has served on the Torrance school board for seven years, allowing him to gain the experience of crafting a balanced budget, which will be valuable as the state struggles with ongoing budgeting problems.

TORRANCE, CA – The California chapter of the National Organization for Women (NOW), one of California’s largest and most sought after women’s groups, announced their endorsement of Al Muratsuchi’s campaign for State Assembly in California’s new 66th Assembly District.
California NOW President Patty Bellasalma stated, “With the state budget cuts disproportionally affecting women and children, there has never been a more important time to ensure the Legislature is filled with advocates for women’s voices as well as communities that have been largely ignored. Al clearly understands that challenge and our organization is confident that he will work as a legislator to move our state towards a more level playing field.”
About 70 people gathered in Hermosa Beach on Wednesday for a Beach Cities Democratic Club meet-and-greet with Congressman Henry Waxman and State Assembly candidate Al Muratsuchi.
Waxman, 37-year veteran in Congress, faces Manhattan Beach businessman and Independent Bill Bloomfield in the 33rd District congressional race. Forty-four percent of the newly drawn district’s voters are registered Democrats, while 28 percent are registered Republicans, according to the California Secretary of State’s office.
