Say Muratsuchi is Best Candidate to Keep South Bay Neighborhoods Safe
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Al Muratsuchi's campaign to retake the 66th Assembly District seat continues to gain momentum as the Los Angeles Police Chiefs Association endorses him.
"Police chiefs from around Los Angeles County and the South Bay agree that Muratsuchi is the best advocate for public safety in the 66th District Assembly race. He understands the challenges in keeping our communities safe, and always supports our efforts. Like us, his number one concern is the safety of the community. We trust him to lead us in Sacramento," says Montebello Police Chief Kevin McClure, Chair of the Los Angeles County Police Chiefs Association Political Action Committee (LACPA PAC).
Muratsuchi represented the 66th Assembly District from 2012 to 2014, and is widely considered the number one priority and opportunity for state Assembly leadership to regain Democratic seats.
"Muratsuchi has the record, the infrastructure, and the grassroots support needed to take back this seat," said campaign consultant Mike Shimpock. "Republicans barely defeated him in their best year in recent memory. Turnout and expected Democratic performance in 2016 means Muratsuchi will be the next and future Assemblymember from the 66th District."
Muratsuchi has lived in the South Bay for the past twenty years with his wife and daughter. He is a Deputy Attorney General with the California Department of Justice, a former Torrance School Board member, and a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and UCLA School of Law.
